How this site earns
Through affiliate commission, and we would rather say so plainly at the top of the page than in small grey type at the bottom.
The arrangement
Every button on this site that sends you to buy a bag carries an identifier that tells our retail partner the visit came from here. If you then buy something, this site is paid a percentage of the sale by the partner. You pay exactly the same amount either way, and the commission comes out of the retailer’s side rather than being added to your price.
What it does not buy
It does not buy a position on a page. The bags shown as the ones people talk about are ordered by how many people have written about the listing, and nothing else. The strap drop finder returns whatever actually reaches the combination you asked for, in order of how well it fits it, and it will tell you that nothing reaches it rather than offering you the nearest thing we would like to sell.
It also does not buy a softer opinion. The journal says that plating wears through, that a second strap is a second thing to lose and that faux suede marks in a car seat. Those are the things that would go unsaid if commission decided the wording.
What we count
The counts across this site are computed from the catalogue itself every time the site is built, not typed in by hand. Review counts are counted once per listing rather than once per colourway: a listing covers a whole set of colours, so adding the same count up for each colour would inflate it several times over. The honest figure across 14 listings is 6,045.
